About The Movie:
During Oklahoma’s freewheeling territorial days, coquettish Laurey Williams (Shirley Jones) falls for good-natured cowboy Curly McLain (Gordon MacRae). Unfortunately, she also provokes the unwanted affections of brooding hired hand Jud Fry (Rod Steiger). Classic Rodgers and Hammerstein songs abound in this Academy Award-winning musical from director Fred Zinnemann that was adapted for the big screen after a successful Broadway run.
